A4&T Power Solutions, in collaboration with key public and private sector partners, today celebrated two major milestones in Nigeria’s energy access journey with the commissioning of the 0.5MW Epe Interconnected Mini-Grid in Eredo, Epe Local Government Area of Lagos State, and the groundbreaking ceremony for a new 5MW interconnected mini-grid project within Epe.
The twin events underscore the growing role of decentralized renewable energy solutions in expanding electricity access, supporting economic development, and improving the quality of life for underserved communities across Nigeria.
The ceremonies were attended by the Honourable Minister of Power, the Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer of the Rural Electrification Agency (REA), representatives of the European Union, GIZ, Ikeja Electric, the Lagos State Government, development partners, traditional rulers, community leaders, industry stakeholders, and residents.
The commissioned 0.5MW Epe Interconnected Mini-Grid was developed under the Rural Electrification Agency’s Interconnected Mini-Grid Programme, supported by the European Union and GIZ. The project reflects the Federal Government’s commitment to accelerating energy access and driving socio-economic development through sustainable energy infrastructure.
Implemented by A4&T Power Solutions in partnership with Ikeja Electric and with the support of the Lagos State Government, the project demonstrates the transformative impact of collaboration among government institutions, development partners, electricity distribution companies, and private sector operators in delivering reliable and sustainable electricity to underserved communities.
Speaking at the event, the Managing Director of A4&T Power Solutions, Mr. Ayo Ademilua, described the commissioning and groundbreaking ceremonies as landmark achievements in the company’s mission to bridge Nigeria’s energy access gap.
